NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
The City of Ferndale City Council will hold a public hearing to consider repealing several zoning designations that are no longer in use and have been replaced by other zones. Pursuant to Section 14.15.050 of the Ferndale Municipal Code the following notice is provided to inform the community of the pending hearing.
The City Council meeting will be held beginning at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, October 3, 2016 in the Council Chambers at the Ferndale City Hall Annex located at 5694 Second Avenue in Ferndale. Any interested party is invited to attend the public hearing and offer testimony, or submit comments in writing to the City Council. Written comments should be submitted by 5:00 p.m. on the date preceding the meeting. The City Council will consider the Gateway Development District zone (Ferndale Municipal Code 18.50), the General Commercial Zone (FMC 18.52, and the Floodway Fringe District (FMC 18.24), and the Highway Commercial Zone (FMC 18.48).
Three properties (6451, 6453 and 6459 Portal Way) retain the Highway Commercial zoning designation; these properties are proposed to be rezoned to General Business.  Such a designation would not alter the legal status of existing land use on the subject properties.
REQUESTED ACTION(S):
The City of Ferndale requests an amendment to the Official Zoning Map.
