Anna DePoppe passed away peacefully on Monday, June 8, 2015. She was born on Dec. 4, 1925, to Anna and Jens Petersen on the family farm in Ferndale.
In 1945 Anna married Raymond DePoppe, who preceded her in death, along with her two sisters, Mary Hope and Nina Coffelt.
A mother of eight children: Richard, Norman, Christine, Nancy, Jim, Paul, John and Dale, she was blessed with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces.
She was well known in the community at the Ferndale Senior Activity Center where she took quilting and painting classes. She was a lifelong member of the American Legion Auxiliary, where in 2006 she was nominated as volunteer of the year.
A celebration of life will be held at Moles Chapel, 2039 Main St., Ferndale, at 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 18, 2015, with a coffee hour following.
