Clara Zoet

  Clara Jean Zoet, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, Dec. 28, 2020. Mom is warm now in the arms of Jesus.
  Clara was born April 22, 1932, in Bellingham to parents Peter and Bernice (Koetje) VanDiest.
  She graduated from Lynden Christian in 1950. Clara married Martin Visser in October 1950, and together they had five children. On Sept. 19, 1992, Clara married Ronald Zoet.
Clara worked for Sebens Bakery, Fairway Café, McLain Drug for 23 years where she was a pharmacist assistant and helped customers, and Fairway Drug for five years until she retired. She sold Avon and Tupperware and volunteered at the Lynden Senior Center. Clara enjoyed camping with her family, traveling with Tulip Tours, and touring other countries. She enjoyed quilting, especially making quilts for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also made table runners and hangings with coasters. She also enjoyed crocheting, cross-stitching and collecting all kinds of sizes of angels.
  Clara was a member of Faith Reformed Church, where she sang in the choir and volunteered in the kitchen.
  Clara was preceded in death by her parents, sister June Heutink, brother Gerald VanDiest, son-in-law Peter Bovenkamp Jr., and husbands Martin Visser and Ronald Zoet.
  Clara is survived by her five children, Carol (Marvin) Weidkamp, Gerald (Vicki) Visser, Rodney (Valerie) Visser, Richard (Robin) Visser and Darlene (Dennis) Huizinga; 16 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren with the fifth on the way; sister Helen Hoggarth and brother Robert (Janice) VanDiest; and numerous nieces and nephews.
  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Faith Reformed Church, 300 Seventh St., Lynden, WA 98264; or the Lighthouse Mission Ministries, P.O. Box 548, Bellingham, WA 98227.
  There will be a private family graveside service at Monumenta Cemetery at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 8, 2021, followed by a private family memorial service in Faith Reformed Church at noon.
