Clarence McCully

Screen Shot 2015-08-05 at 9.07.35 AM  Lynden resident Clarence “Mac” H. McCully Jr., age 93, died Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at PeaceHealth St. Joseph Hospital.
  Born March 7, 1922 in Torrington, Wyoming, he was the only child of Clarence H. and Marie (Montgomery) McCully. During World War II Mac served in the U.S. Navy aboard a gun boat, the USS Charleston, and was stationed in Dutch Harbor, Alaska, and Hong Kong, China. He also served with the Merchant Marine aboard the SS Lot Whitcom, spending much of his time in the Indian Ocean with ports of call in India, Africa and South America.
  Mac met Margaret Plent in San Francisco and they were married in the 1950s. He was a career telephone technician, working many overtime hours toward early retirement with AT&T. A sports enthusiast, he enjoyed both playing and watching sports. Mac was always knowledgeable and up-to-date with current events. A loving and devoted husband to Margaret, he also enjoyed many friendships throughout his lifetime.
  Mac was preceded in death by his beloved wife of over 60 years, Margaret. He is survived by many dear friends. At his request no services will be held. Mac will be laid to rest in Tahoma National Cemetery.
