Dorothy Goodman

Screen Shot 2015-07-09 at 8.29.32 AM  Dorothy Ellen Goodman passed away peacefully in Lynden on June 27, 2015. Dorothy was born on Sept. 15, 1928, to Walter and Ellen Heider on the Pole Road family farm. She attended Greenwood Grade School and graduated from Lynden High School.
  In 1948 she married John Goodman and they built a home next door and raised four children. She was a loving wife for 66 years until John’s passing last August. She enjoyed growing a wide variety of dahlias, entering many of them in the Lynden fair as well as traveling to places off the beaten path with family and friends. She also enjoyed collecting antiques and opened Little Western Antiques in 1985.
  Dorothy was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1972 and faithfully encouraged others about the blessings of God’s kingdom until she passed away. Dorothy touched others with her sweet smile, cheerful attitude and warm hugs. She will be missed dearly by family, friends and congregation.
  Dorothy’s life included four children: Jim, Nancy (Mark) Kane, Ron (Deneva) and Sue Marshall (Wes); seven grandchildren: Jay, Zoe, Caleb, John, Nick, Travis and Crystal and one great-granddaughter, Beatrix.
  A memorial service will be held at Wiser Lake Kingdom Hall, 892 W. Wiser Lake Rd., on July 12 at 4 p.m., with a reception to follow at the family home.
