Dorothy Womack

Dorothy was born in Sumas on March 7, 1946, to Ralph J. Romberg and Dorothy (DeBondt) Romberg.
Raised in Sumas, she was the youngest of seven children. She graduated from Nooksack Valley High School in 1964. She was close with her siblings and family. She will be monumentally missed. We loved her so much.
She lived and worked most of her life in Whatcom County, having worked 41 years at Georgia-Pacific until her retirement. This is where she met the love of her life, Richard Womack. They were married in 1968 and to his passing in 2019. They lived the past 30 years in Ferndale.
She enjoyed gardening, fishing, antiquing, snowbirding in Texas, road trips, Reno and spending time with family and friends.
One of her favorite things was family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughters, April (Blair) Walker and Meredith (Colin) Koehler; her four grandchildren, Cassi Walker, Kimberly (Dustin) van Dommelen, Corwin Koehler and Violet Koehler; and two great-grandchildren, Parker and Peyton; her sisters, Marjorie Wymer of Poulsbo and Judith (Richard) White of Woodinville; a brother, Duane (Janet) Romberg of Chugiak, Alaska; numerous nieces and nephews, many family and friends who remember her fondly and will miss her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Richard; her loving parents; two brothers, Ralph “Bud” Romberg and John Romberg; and a sister, Gertude (Lapinsky) Romberg.
Dorothy’s family will have a private family graveside service in the coming weeks.
