Eva Olga Cooper

Screen Shot 2016-06-01 at 9.15.26 AM  It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Eva Olga Hardy Cooper on May 17, 2016. She is survived by her loving husband of 36 years, a U.S. Army veteran, Leon Cooper; her children, Susan, Bill (Lynda), Larry (Joan); step-children John, Harold, Judith, Patricia, Ruth and Wesley; sister Florence and brother Fred; 24 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Olga also had many nieces and nephews, extended family and many friends who will miss her dearly.
  Olga was born on Feb. 12, 1931, in Lake Eliza, Alberta. She was one of 12 children of a Ukrainian migrant family to Canada. She grew up in northern Alberta, moved to coastal British Columbia in 1950 and spent time in remote fishing villages in Namu and Bella Bella prior to raising her family in Vancouver, B.C. She lived the last 36 years with Leon in Ferndale.
  Olga was a hardworking homemaker with amazing cooking, gardening and sewing skills. She was a good-humored and well-liked member of the Ferndale community and will be sadly missed.
  A private service will be held by the family.
