Richard DeVries

  Richard DeVries, age 88, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday morning, Aug. 30, 2015, in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
  He was preceded in death by his brothers, Ray and Sid; and his parents, John and Elizabeth.
  Rich is survived by his wife of 66 years, Beverly; children Ginny (Jack) Kramer and Ann (Jim) De Boe; grandchildren Jordan (Amy) and Keith (Kristin) Kramer, Paul, Nate (Mandy) and Adam De Boe, and Mattie (Dan) Hubers; great-grandchildren Emerson, Alexa, Jackson and Leo Kramer; his sister, Sena (Vern) VanHeyningen; sister-in-law June DeVries; and many nephews, nieces and friends.
  He was a devoted and beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, who will be remembered for his love of gospel music, golf and his keen sense of humor.
  Richards’ family wishes to express a sincere thank you to Jan Lapp, faithful caregiver and friend.
  A celebration of life service will be held in Zaagman Memorial Chapel, 2800 Burton St. SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49546, on Friday, Sept. 4, at 2 p.m. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery. Relatives and family may meet the family at Zaagman’s on Friday, Sept. 4, one hour prior to the service from 1 to 2 p.m.
  Memorial contributions may be made to Lynden Christian Schools, Spectrum Hospice or Holland Home.
