Sterling Anderson

Screen Shot 2015-11-11 at 9.32.00 AM  Sterling “Bud” Anderson went to be with his Lord and Savior on Nov. 5, 2015, at home with family by his side. He was born in Lynden on March 5, 1921, to Emil and Esther Anderson.
He is survived by daughters Lynne and Bev; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Bud graduated from Lynden High School in 1937 and married his high school sweetheart, Bun, on Aug. 1, 1941. They shared almost 72 years of marriage.
Together he and Bun dairy farmed for over 30 years. In 1942 Bud started driving truck and hauling milk cans for Darigold, moving on to small milk tankers and finishing up his career with the big trucks and trailers of LTI. For over the 40 years he drove all over Whatcom County gathering friends and acquaintances whereever he went. Up to the day he passed he could recognize people, maybe not remember their names, but never forgot their route number.
Bud and Bun were active members of Sunrise Baptist Church. For over 70 years this church was their spiritual family and the place where they dedicated their lives to raising their daughters in a Christian atmosphere.
After retiring, Bud and Bun did extensive traveling in Europe, Israel and all over United States. Their big love was Southern gospel music. For over 30 years they traveled once a year to the National Quartet Convention in Tennessee and Kentucky.
The family thanks Signature Home Care, Hospice and Oliver Ross, the ALS regional representative, for the tender, loving care they provided for our Father these last few weeks of his life.
The funeral service will be held on Sunday, Nov. 15, at 1:30 p.m. in Sunrise Baptist Church.
You are invited to share your thoughts or memories of Bud in the guest book at the service or in the online guestbook at www.molesfarewelltributes.com.
Memorials in honor of Bud may be made to the Lighthouse Mission in Bellingham.
