Teachers walk out

Screen Shot 2015-04-29 at 12.54.57 PMTeachers in Bellingham and Ferndale joined a regional day-long strike on Friday, April 24, in order to protest various moves made by the Republican-led state Senate. Teachers were worried about class sizes, proposals to tie some teacher compensation to test results, and various other items. Above, Cheryl Frazier (Eagleridge Elementary) and Celeste Larson (Horizon and Vista Middle) were among the teachers who began the morning waving signs on the Nooksack River bridge downtown before moving to Bellingham for other joint demonstrations.
