Ty Mathers

Screen Shot 2016-08-03 at 1.34.53 PM  Beloved son, husband and father Ty Christian Mathers passed away suddenly at St. Joseph Hospital in Bellingham on Sunday, July 31, 2016.
  Ty was born in Bellingham on Aug. 12, 1972, was raised in Blaine and had resided with his family in Everson for the past 19 years. He attended Blaine schools and Skagit Community College, excelling in several sports. Ty married Gina Bosman on Aug. 9, 1997, and loved his role as father to their three beautiful girls, Georgia, Daphne and Claudia. He especially enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping with his friends and family. Ty previously owned his own construction company, but was most recently employed with his family at Stremler Gravel.
  In addition to his wife and daughters, Ty is survived by his father, Wayne Mathers and his wife Betty; mother Sherri Mathers and her life partner Lou; father-in-law Terry Bosman; and grandparents David and Angie Long. He is also survived by his wife’s siblings: Troy and Melanie Bosman, Vonda and John Vande Hoef, Karma and Jody St. John, Trent Bosman, Tad and Shannon Bosman, and Tim and Michelle Zylstra. He was a favorite uncle to 22 special nieces and nephews.
  Ty was preceded in death by his brother Shay Mathers, sister-in-law Trisha Zylstra and her son Fletcher, mother-in-law Norma Bosman, his grandpa Chuck Hendricks, and grandpa and grandma Mathers.
  Services are planned for Saturday, Aug. 6, 2016, at 2 p.m. on the Stremler property at 9480 Van Buren Rd., Lynden (casual dress encouraged), preceded by private family burial at Greenwood Cemetery. “But those who trust in the Lord will renew their strength; they will fly on wings like eagles, they will run and not be tired; they will walk and not be weary.” Isaiah 40:31.
