Carole R. Vander Yacht

On Wednesday, Dec. 13, Carole R. Vander Yacht went home to heaven to meet her Savior, Jesus.

Carole was born June 16, 1950 in Bellingham. She was raised on the family farm and graduated from Lynden Christian High School in 1968. She was married to Darryl Vander Yacht that year and became a homemaker for their growing family. Her passion in life was knowing and growing closer to Jesus and making sure others did too. While committing her life to raise her children and run the family home, she also spent her time serving others. She loved teaching preschool and spent many years leading Bible studies. She loved her family and loved people well. She found ways to do this even through her 28-year battle with cancer. Even when cancer took many things from her, she kept fighting. She was faithful in her prayers for all of those around her and would not go a day without talking to Jesus. Her biggest prayer was for all those around her to have a relationship with Him.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Tracy Bogaard.

She leaves behind her husband, Darryl; sons Jeff (Colleen), Joel (Missy) and Kent (Lyndall) Vander Yacht and daughter Tara (John) Hubbard; grandchildren Teagan, Keller, Evaline, Grant, Anna, Mya, Malakai, Piper, Snow and Kenya VanderYacht, and Eli, Jacob and Nathan Hubbard; brothers Gord (Janice) and Phil (Charlotte) Bogaard and sister Gin Hubbard; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 4, in Grace Baptist Fellowship, 338 N. Park St., Lynden. In honor of Carole, memorials may be given to Hearts that Hope USA, 1824 Front St., Suite C, Lynden, WA 98264.

She will be missed, but not without the hope in Jesus of knowing we will see her again. Please share your thoughts and memories of Carole online at www.sigsfuneralservices.com.
