Karen Lou Grenzow, of Sumas, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, Feb. 12, 2017 at the age of 62. Karen was born Aug. 2, 1954 in Elkhorn, Wisconsin, and graduated from Elkhorn High School. She married Robert Grenzow on June 8, 1974 at Sugar Creek Lutheran Church near Troy, Wisconsin, and on Sept. 2, 1976, their daughter Amanda was born.
Karen found inspiration through the Colorado Outward Bound School. Blacksmithing, metal art working and sea kayaking gave her great joy. Her favorite place was Lake Ann near Mount Shuksan.
In addition to her husband of 42 years, Robert, Karen is survived by daughter Amanda; mother Barbara Nielsen; sister Susan Kelman; and Gypsie Rose, the Border collie.
At her request, a private service will be held.
